Get Involved with the Juneau Reentry Coalition

Community members are encouraged to join the Juneau Reentry Coalition’s monthly community meetings. Visit our calendar for upcoming dates and details. Add your voice to the planning and implementation process at the small group level by joining one of the workgroups listed below. Contact us to learn more.

Alaska Native Workgroup: Addresses the specific needs of recently released Alaska Natives and promotes community reentry services that are culturally relevant in an effort to reduce recidivism.

Chair: Talia Eames      Meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Andrew Hope Building’s 3rd floor conference room

Behavioral Health & Wellness Workgroup: Supports community-based education and support for addiction, mental health, and physical health care for returning citizens—from early identification within the Corrections system, through transition and reentry, and including ongoing supports that promote stability and success in the community.

Chair: Teri Tibbett

Community Education and Outreach Workgroup: Builds local awareness, support, and advocacy for improved reentry services and outcomes—including evidence-based practices that promote fewer crimes and fewer victims, safer neighborhoods, and successful returning citizens.

 Education and Training Workgroup: Works to ensure education and training opportunities are available to returning citizens in a system that supports individual success, through a process that begins before release and continues after reentry into the community.

Chair: Sol Neely

Employment Workgroup: Connects returning citizens to employment opportunities, including supportive employment and employment services, through a process that begins before release and continues after reentry into the community.

Chair: Michael Hutcherson

Family Support Workgroup: Supports information and family strengthening resources for returning citizens and their families through a process that begins before release and continues after reentry into the community.

Chair: Crystal Bourland      Meets the 4th Tuesdays of the month from 3:30 – 4:30 pm at Bartlett Regional in the Administration building

Housing Workgroup: Facilitates access to safe, affordable, and supportive housing, through a process that begins before release and continues after reentry into the community.

Chair: Corry Isabell

Peer Support: Creating, building, and maintaining a network of positive peer and community support to achieve reentry success, through a process that begins before release and continues after reentry into the community.
